Most of us went to Volcan Pacaya today. It was a VERY strenuous hike. We didn't go all the way up to the crater, but it was still at least a couple thousand feet of elevation gain, in the dry, dusty heat. We got a great view of the summit, as well as the surrounding mountains and the Guatemala City valley below. We enjoyed lava-roasted marshmallows as the reward for making it up there.
I'm very glad I went, but it will be another early night for me!
