Getting to know Antigua
Today was a day of rest and relaxation, and becoming familiar with our home for the next two weeks. I tagged along with a few students for the day - Michelle Wyszomiriski, Paul Rotert, and Urvi Patel - as we explored the city on foot. The first photo is us with Antigua and Volcan Agua in the background, as seen from Cerro de la Cruz, a lookout point north of the city. We also saw some churches, art galleries, shops, and a chocolate museum/store with yummy samples. Parque Central, in the last photo, is just a block from our hotel. It's a popular community gathering place and is surrounded by historical architecture.

So glad to see you made it safe and sound. How fortunate Guatemala is to have you there. Do good stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, Cortney! Now I REALLY can't wait to get there!
